I am Melissa, a passionate educator, where I aim to help elementary-aged students struggling with reading and comprehension skills, solve the problem of falling behind in their literacy development, by providing tailored tutoring sessions, engaging learning materials, and supportive instruction to boost their confidence and enhance their reading abilities.

Melissa uses various strategies to teach phonics and reading skills. She is very creative and captures students’ attention in reading.
Melissa begins her lessons by reviewing items the students already are familiar with, then follows by introducing the vocabulary and language from the book. She models using a graphic organizer. She goes over sight vocabulary. Students read and practice the focus strategy, then discuss what the book was about or what it includes.Last, students draw a picture or write a sentence about the story. She provides feedback and reviews goals before dismissing students.
