Who Am I?

Hi, I’m Melissa, founder of Fox Tutoring Academy and mom to two incredible kids who helped shape this journey.

My work began when my own daughter struggled with reading in second grade. Even after early success, she hit a wall with decoding and comprehension. As both a parent and educator, I stepped in to help rebuild her confidence and skills and that experience changed everything.

As a longtime educator, I’ve seen how differently children learn. Some students need intervention to build missing skills, while others need enrichment, engaging content, or clearer steps to understand how reading develops and how the writing process works.

While teaching kindergarten, I saw just how critical early literacy truly is. Those early years build the foundation for everything that follows in reading and writing. When early skills are missed, small gaps can grow into larger challenges, but when strong foundations are built, confidence grows quickly.

That understanding led me to create Fox Tutoring Academy, a place where families can find practical literacy tools, clear guidance, and structured support that makes learning more manageable at home.

Today, we support families, homeschool educators, and new teachers with resources that build strong reading and writing foundations and help learners feel confident every step of the way.

Every child deserves to feel confident, capable, and supported. That’s what we’re all about.
